5 business podcasts for people on the go

Why I can't commit

Personally I'm not a fan of the long form podcast. You know the one - the rambling interviews that last an hour and a half, maybe more. I'm sure the content is great, but usually it will take one of three things to get me to commit:

  1. I know the interviewee or hosts and want to hear from them
  2. You hook me in the first 5 minutes
  3. The topic is too interesting to ignore

Unfortunately finding any of the above three isn't guaranteed. Nice when you find it, painful when you don't.

The biggest barrier for long form podcasts though is time. When you're pushing towards the 2 hour mark, I have to seriously question when anyone has that amount of time to listen to a podcast. Especially business or work related ones. You want to stay informed, but in the battle for our attention, a nice evening on the couch with wine and our significant other might be more appealing.
