Microsoft increase Office 365 storage capacity

By September 26, 2016April 4th, 2024No Comments

Over time businesses will store an ever increasing amount of data in the cloud. Perhaps to address this, Microsoft recently increased storage capacity from 1TB to 25TB. That’s a lot of room! For perspective, we haven’t had a single SuiteFiles customer come close to 1TB, but the additional storage is there if and when you need it.

Important: With your Office 365 plan, the cap still sits at 1TB but you can purchase extra capacity up to 25TB. It does not come as a default.

What Office 365 plans does it come with?

The 25TB storage cap comes with all new Office 365 plans including:

  • Office 365 Business Essentials and Office 365 Business Premium

It is not included in legacy plans, such as:

  • Office 365 Mid-size Business
  • Office 365 Small Business and Small Business Premium

Keep this in mind and check your current Office 365 plan if you want or need to increase your storage capacity. Regardless of how much space you’re currently using, this move by Microsoft addresses the potential future requirements of businesses around the world. When it comes to your documents, it’s good to know that you have some wriggle room in Office 365.
